Connected System (DC Distribution)
The Connected System is an innovative IoT solution that uses direct current (DC) power distribution to enable communication between lighting fixtures and control devices. It replaces the individual ballasts installed in each lighting fixture with a single integrated SMPS and collects data from the home network to monitor, analyze, and manage energy consumption. The system also improves energy efficiency through features such as standby power cutoff and peak demand control.
* This system received Regulatory Sandbox Temporary Permit No. 3 under the name “Smart Lighting Using Communication Cables.” User information is disclosed as follows. (Permit issued by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on April 29, 2019)1) Temporary permit condition: Until the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards establishes the final KC safety standard, the LED lighting system must pass safety certification testing in accordance with the administratively announced draft KC safety standard. Once the final standard is established, KC safety certification must be obtained subject to compliance with that standard.2) Temporary permit criteria, specifications, and requirements: An LED lighting system using communication cables based on direct-current (DC) distribution within multi-unit housing, simultaneously transmitting power and communication through 0.2 mm² UTP cable.3) Liability insurance has been obtained to cover personal injury and property damage under Article 20 of the Industrial Convergence Promotion Act administered by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy: Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Product Liability Insurance (bodily injury: KRW 180,000,000 per person; property damage: KRW 1,000,000,000 per claim).
